A Better World Festival

“The Dark Side of Chocolate” Documentary Screening and Discussion with the Pasquerilla Center
We watched clips from this BBC documentary on modern day slavery particularly focued on the cocoa bean industry

 “Agricultural Labor in the Americas” Event with the Pasquerilla Center
Then-President Vicente Ortiz Cortez spoke about his experience as the son of migrant farmworkers, and then facts were presented about the shocking lack of regulation for child workers and worker safety on farms in the USA, and Latin America.

Late Night Penn State Trivia
Fair Trade Penn State was given a table at Late Night Penn State so passer-bys could guess at some trivia-style questions. The answers were always surprising! Try your hand at the questions.

A Fair Trade Penn State is asked to represent the student body when Joe Bozich, founder of Alta Gracia, came to speak as part of Penn State’s Distinguished Speaker Series.
